  • Struck out 126, the top mark in the nation and a program record
  • Posted a 11-3 record with a 2.60 ERA.
  • Set a program record for both starts and wins
  • Compiled a 2.60 ERA in 97.0 innings pitched
  • Lead the team in strikeouts with 126
  • Recorded 14 strikeouts in a 10-5 win over Washington & Lee (3/31)
  • In 13 of 15 appearances, had six or more strikeouts per game
  • In his three-year career, Selby is 17-3 for a winning percentage of .850
  • Hurled a complete game with 10 strikeouts in a 2-1 win vs. No. 6 LeGrange in the NCAA Regional (5/17)

As a Sophomore – 2017:

  • Appeared in 5 games with 4 starts
  • 3-1 record with 3.05 ERA
  • 21 strikeouts in 20.2 innings
  • 3 hitless innings with 3 strikeouts in winning first start vs. RPI
  • Fanned 6 in 5 innings in win at St. Mary’s (Md.)
  • Won at Guilford with 5 hits and 1 earned run in 5 innings with 5 strikeouts

As a Freshman – 2016:

  • Earned 10 starts on the mound for the Yellow Jackets
  • Pitched a total of 53.1 innings tallying 45 strikeouts.
  • Retired Rowan’s first 10 batters
  • Selected ODAC Pitcher of the Week (2/28)
  • Pitched a complete game and recorded 8 strikeouts against Shenandoah (4/30).
  • Finished the season with a 4-1 record.

Personal: Earned three varsity letters in baseball at Western Branch High School, where he helped lead the Bruins to a 6A State Championship in 2014, a year that also included a 6A South Regional championship, a Conference 2 tournament title, and a Conference 2 regular season title…in 2015, Selby helped the Bruins to another Conference 2 regular season championship and a second straight 6A South Regional Championship…As a senior pitcher, Selby was named the Conference Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, Second Team All-State, All-Tidewater Pitcher, and First Team All-Conference…Was also honored as a Second Team All-Conference outfielder.

Sleby was a DECA and FBLA member, and he intends to pursue a pre-medical degree…His uncle, Chuck Nightingale, played football at Notre Dame.
