  • Considered one of the best all-round athletes in RMC history.
  • President of Student Government.
  • President of Theta Kappa Nu fraternity.
  • Elected to Omicron Delta Kappa in 1937.
  • Earned BS in Chemistry.
  • Taught and was assistant athletic director at Staunton Military Academy.
  • World War II veteran, 22-year career of active service in the U.S. Navy.
  • Received National Defense Service Medal with bronze star.
  • Earned MA from George Washington University in 1965.
  • Intelligence Research Specialist, Weapons Systems, at Scientific and Technical Intelligence Center, Washington, D.C.
  • His son James K. Bair III graduated from R-MC in 1971.
  • Passed away in 2012 at the age of 98. Was buried with full military honors and wore his RMC Athletics Hall of Fame pin.
