- Considered one of the best all-round athletes in RMC history.
- President of Student Government.
- President of Theta Kappa Nu fraternity.
- Elected to Omicron Delta Kappa in 1937.
- Earned BS in Chemistry.
- Taught and was assistant athletic director at Staunton Military Academy.
- World War II veteran, 22-year career of active service in the U.S. Navy.
- Received National Defense Service Medal with bronze star.
- Earned MA from George Washington University in 1965.
- Intelligence Research Specialist, Weapons Systems, at Scientific and Technical Intelligence Center, Washington, D.C.
- His son James K. Bair III graduated from R-MC in 1971.
- Passed away in 2012 at the age of 98. Was buried with full military honors and wore his RMC Athletics Hall of Fame pin.
