- Two-sport standout in basketball and baseball.
- All-Mason-Dixon Second Team in basketball as a junior and senior.
- Named to All-State small college basketball team as a junior and senior.
- All-Mason-Dixon as third baseman in 1961 and 1962.
- All-Mason-Dixon as catcher in 1963 and 1964.
- Member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
- Member of Kappa Alpha social fraternity.
- Played semi-pro baseball following graduation.
- Long-time coach and umpire in central Virginia.
- Inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame for Collegiate School.
- In 2017, inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame for John Marshall High School.
